I started running antenatal courses for the NCT in 1997 when I was pregnant with my second child. I always enjoyed doing it as it is a special moment for parents who come to classes and I could sneak in on the excitement. It was also amazing to see the people develop into parents for their child(ren) and to be giving them information that was allowing them to make the right choices for their circumstances. After a few years of running these classes, I decided to train to use hypnosis for birth preparation. I did this with Maggie Howell (Natal Hypnotherapy). Soon after my training, I decided that I wanted to be a properly trained hypnotherapist, as I found the techniques powerful, but my knowledge of them rather restricted. This is when I came across the Quest Institute and Trevor Silvester, the founder of Cognitive Hypnotherapy. I obtained my Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma and membership to the NCH (National Council for Hypnotherapy) and the CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council).
Cognitive Hypnotherapy is particularly powerful because it is tailored to each person’s strengths and needs. This is why I decided to stop being a Natal Hypnotherapy practitioner to only use Cognitive Hypnotherapy and Confident Childbirth.
Confident Childbirth practitioners are all fully trained Cognitive Hypnotherapist from the Quest Institute, who have followed further training in the area of birth and postnatal issues.
I also trained with Russell Davis and Gordon Mullins specifically on using Cognitive Hypnotherapy for fertility and became one of the first three BabyQuest practitioners in the UK.
I have a lot of knowledge of fertility, birth, postnatal issues from my work since 1997 in the area, but also from my studies at University where I got a Masters in Physiology and a PhD in Neuroscience. This has always been an area of deep interest for me and I am looking forward to meeting you and guiding you on your journey to and through parenthood.
